How Jason Baker Is Helping Teachers Find Their Calling

When Jason Baker stepped up to sponsor our most recent Teach901 Job Fair, he made it possible for dozens of educators to connect with schools that fit their teaching style and mission. That means more students with teachers who are in the right place, doing their best work.

A Memphis Leader with a Heart for Education

Jason Baker leads two organizations headquartered in Memphis: Champions for Literacy and Thrive Creative Partners.

"I'm a native Memphian with a huge passion for our great city," Jason says. "Good people. Good culture. Good sports. What else is there to say?!"

That passion is exactly what drove him to support Teach901. "With a background in both non and for-profit sectors, I have developed a deep appreciation for the needle-moving educational work happening in Memphis and an appreciation for the support for-profit entities can provide to catalyze those efforts."

More Than a Job Fair

Finding the right teaching position is about matching passionate educators with schools where they can thrive, grow, and make their greatest impact on students.

Jason understands this deeply. "Each school has a unique brand for uniquely-wired teachers," he explains. "It makes a lot of sense to bring educators and schools together to really streamline the opportunity to share and hear about that uniqueness to see where teachers can best serve kids and for schools to find 'their people'."

Why These Connections Matter

Teach901 job fairs do something a simple online application never could: they create real human connections. When educators and school leaders meet face-to-face, they can share their vision, discuss school culture, and determine if it's the right fit, all in real time.

These events serve everyone:

  • Schools build stronger, more cohesive teams with educators who align with their mission

  • Teachers find positions where their unique skills and passion can flourish

  • Students benefit from dedicated educators who are genuinely invested in their success

Whether someone is earning their teaching license, switching schools to find a better fit, or launching their education career, Teach901 job fairs help them take that crucial next step with confidence.

Education Is a Whole-Community Work

For Jason, supporting educators goes beyond the classroom walls. "I believe education is a whole-community work," he shares. "Schools are doing phenomenal work, but they cannot do it alone. Any successful organization has outside voices, outside advocates, and resources outside the four walls. Schools need that same outside support."

This philosophy is at the heart of Give901's mission. We support excellent teachers, innovative schools, and empowering mentors, and partners like Jason prove that when the business community shows up for education, everyone wins.

The Give901 Difference

Thanks to sponsors like Jason and the entire Give901 community, Teach901 can plan more strategically, recruit earlier in the season, and provide sustained support to educators throughout their journey. Every teacher hired through Teach901 represents countless students who will benefit from consistent, high-quality education.

Find Your Place in the Work

Jason's advice to anyone considering getting involved: "Every Memphian can find their place to lend their greatest strengths to meet our greatest needs. With our small town vibes, I promise you'll find your place within just a few conversations."

Know a teacher looking for a job? Send them to our next Teach901 Education Expo happening Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm on the 4th floor of Crosstown Concourse. It could be the connection that changes their career and their students' lives.
