Inside the Choose901 Alumni Summer Social
There's something that happens when Memphis graduates find each other. The conversation comes easy. The energy builds fast. And before long, what started as a fun evening has turned into something much more meaningful.
That's exactly what unfolded at the Choose901 Alumni Summer Social. Alumni from different partner schools and graduating classes came together to eat good food, play music bingo, and spend real time with one another. Over 40 alumni showed up, and the room felt it.
This was a strong example of meaningful alumni engagement and a reminder that Choose901 is still a resource, network, and community for alumni as they build their futures.

Some of those missing pieces became visible in real time. Sebastian Carson, Choose901 Alumni Talent Coordinator, connected with an alum who'd recently started his own business. The conversation led to an introduction to an investor with interest in supporting alumni entrepreneurs. A handful of musicians serious about building careers in Memphis made similar connections, opening doors to relationships that could help them stay rooted and grow here.
The team used the evening to strengthen alumni connections and create momentum for deeper follow-up. The kind of work that doesn't always show up in an event recap but makes everything else possible.
