Teach901’s Back-to-School Bash was a hit!

On a Thursday night at Old Dominick Distillery, more than 200 teachers and their guests came together to celebrate the start of a new school year—complete with local food, a live DJ, and a round of signature cocktails. The best part is that they didn’t pay for a thing.

The entire night was made possible by Give901 donors and the party co-hosts who believe teachers deserve to be truly celebrated.

The Party Rundown

It was such an amazing night! Seeing the joy on the faces of the teachers made this night one for the books. This is what the teachers got to experience:

  • Grizzlies DJ Mike Tee spun all night, while BLJ, the NBA’s #1 hype man, kept the energy high.

  • The Grizz Girls brought the moves.

  • A drop-in from Shelby County Commissioner Mickell Lowery was a special surprise.

  • And in honor of 25 years of the Memphis Grizzlies, they handed out 25 giveaways to lucky educators.

A Huge Thank You to Our Party Co-Hosts

This night wouldn’t have happened without the generosity of the Party Co-Hosts. A huge thank you to all of them for showing up for educators:

Give Clean, Brainiac Tutoring, Titan Pallet, Arize Restoration, Meredith & Greg Martin, and Michael Johnson.

And a special shoutout to everyone else who pitched in to buy a teacher a drink, a round, or some appetizers. All of you gave teachers a reminder that this city has their back.

Why This Matters

Behind amazing events like this is a bigger mission: keeping great teachers in Memphis classrooms.

Through Teach901, Give901 donors support:

  • Year-round teacher appreciation events

  • The Teach901 job board and seasonal job fairs

  • The Educator Survey, which helps schools listen to teacher feedback and build better workplaces

When teachers feel supported, they stay. When they stay, students win.

Let’s Keep It Going

You don’t need to throw a party to make a difference (but we’re glad we did). You can support Memphis teachers year-round by becoming a Give901 monthly member at any level.

Whether it’s an hour of pay or an hour of time, your generosity fuels everything from job placement to teacher appreciation events.
