Teacher Appreciation Month 2026: Memphis Showed Up

Every day, Memphis teachers walk into classrooms and give everything they have. This April and May, Teach901 and Give901 asked the city to give something back, and Memphis delivered.

Teacher Appreciation Month 2026 was a month-long celebration built around one idea: teachers deserve more than a week. So we gave them a whole month. Four events. Hundreds of teachers. One city rallying behind the people who shape it.

A Month Built for Teachers

From a yoga night in the Medical District with Sana Yoga Downtown to a creative workshop at Crosstown Concourse, a brewery evening at Flyway Brewing, and a full-blown summer kick-off party at Swamp Bar, every event was designed to give Memphis educators something they rarely get: time to rest, space to connect, and a room full of people cheering them on.

Teachers came out to breathe, to laugh, to get creative, to celebrate the end of a school year they earned. They left with goodie bags, good memories, and a real sense that this city is behind them.

The Community Showed Up Too

The events were just one part of it. Through Give901, community members wrote thank-you notes, bought goodie bags for teachers, donated in-kind experiences, and stepped up as sponsors. Every contribution, from handwritten notes to sponsorships, went directly toward making Memphis teachers feel valued.

That's what this month was always about: not just Teach901 celebrating teachers, but the whole city joining in.

A special thank you to our sponsors, Leaders Credit Union, Meredith and Greg Martin, and the Memphis Medical District Collaborative, for making this celebration possible. Your investment in Memphis educators makes a difference that goes far beyond one month.

This Is What Memphis Does

Teachers don't do this work for the recognition. But they deserve it anyway. And when this city decides to show up for someone, it shows up fully.

We're already thinking about next year. In the meantime, if you want to keep supporting Memphis teachers, become a Give901 Member and support teachers all year. Because teacher appreciation shouldn't stop when the calendar turns.
